Chesapeake Sports Club Scholarship Awards
The Chesapeake Sports Club held their monthly meeting at the Chesapeake Conference Center in May and it was the annual meeting where deserving local athletes were presented scholarships. This year the club raised and awarded $28,000 through a variety of fundraiser events.
In addition to our fund raising events, the club is fortunate to have the support of club member Nathan Beck and the Beck Family Foundation. Two of our scholarships are named: The Nathan T. Beck Scholarship goes to a student athlete who has lettered in Soccer. The Ted Beck Memorial Scholarship, named in honor of Nathan’s father, goes to a student who best articulates the importance that athletics has played in his or her overall development.
Frank Webster was the Legends of Honor. The guest speaker for the luncheon was Bud Foster, Defensive Coach from the Virginia Tech Football Team.
